Sweet and sour stir-fried ribs

1 Spare Ribs 500gram
2 Fish sauce 4 tablespoons
3 Sugar 5 teaspoons
4 Vinegar 5 teaspoons
5 Ketchup 1 tablespoon
6 Scallion 1 scallion
7 Shallot 1 shallot
8 Salt, Pepper, Cooking Oil, MSG Based on your preference

Cooking steps

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

  • Wash the ribs and slice them into edible bites.
  • Boil a pot of water and poach the ribs lightly, take them out and let them drain a bit.

Step 2: Make the sauce

  • Pour ketchup, fish sauce, salt, sugar, vinegar, MSG, pepper into a bowl and mix well.
  • Wash and chop the scallion, crush the shallot as well

Step 3: Cook the ribs

  • Heat the pan, put in 2-3 tablespoons of cooking oil.
  • Check if the oil’s hot, pour in the drained ribs and slightly fry the ribs to golden. Take them out and put on a plate.
  • Use the same pan to fry the shallot until it smells good. Add in the sauce mixture and cook until it boils.
  • Next, add in the golden ribs and mix well until the ribs are fully coated by the sweet and sour sauce. Add ½ bowl of water into the pan and mix again. Let the sauce simmer down and get thicker, then turn off the heat.
  • Decorate the ribs on a plate, sprinkle some fresh scallions on top, and enjoy this amazing dish with delicious hot rice.

Salad with Vinegar Dressing

1 Green and purple lettuce 2 lettuces, separated
2 Baby tomatoes 6 tomatoes
3 Da Lat Bell Pepper 1 pepper
4 Olive oil 1 tablespoon
5 Vinegar 3 teaspoons
6 Egg 1 egg
7 Salt, sugar, pepper, chili, garlic paste Based on your preference

Cooking steps

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

  • Sort through the lettuce, soak and clean them in salt water in about 5 minutes, then take them out and drain the extra water.
  • Clean the bell peppers, throw away the seeds, slice them into thin pieces, and soak in salt water for 5 minutes.
  • Boil the egg, peel, and slide it into 4 or 6 pieces.
  • Chop the chilies, add in the garlic paste, and some vinegar.

Step 2: Make the dressing

  • Add sugar, salt, garlic, chili – garlic – vinegar paste, olive oil into a bowl, and mix to blend the flavors well.

Step 3: Mix the salad

  • Add the lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers into a large plate 15 minutes before dinner time and slowly pour the dressing mixture onto the vegetables. Mix them again and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Katuk & Beef Soup

Cooking steps

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

  • Take only the katuk leaves, wash, and dry them.
  • Slice the beef into small pieces, marinate with soy sauce, pepper, cooking oil to soften the meat, and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Make the soup  

  • Heat the pot, add some cooking oil and fry the chopped garlic until it smells nice. Next, add the beef and stir-fry until it’s cooked, take the beef out and put in a separate bowl.
  • Crush the katuk leaves lightly then add them into the same pot to stir-fry. When they are flat, add water and bring it to a boil.
  • Season it well to your taste, then add the cooked beef in and turn off the heat.
