bTaskee's Air Conditioner Removal & Installation Process
Wall-Mounted - Removal
1. Site Assessment and Area Protection
- Inspect the overall wall area beneath the indoor unit, the ceiling, and the routing of the copper pipe system.
- Lay a tarp/plastic sheet directly beneath the work area.
2. Unit Check & Refrigerant Pump-Down
- Turn on the unit in Cool mode at maximum fan speed so the outdoor unit’s compressor starts and runs steadily.
- Close the service valve to recover all refrigerant into the outdoor unit following the correct technique.
3. Disconnect Power & Signal Wiring
- Switch off the circuit breaker (CB) supplying power to the A/C system.
- Remove the outdoor unit’s electrical box cover, detach the power and signal wires, and wrap the cut wire ends tightly with electrical tape.
4. Remove the Outdoor Unit
- Use a wrench to loosen the flare nuts connecting the copper pipes to the outdoor unit.
- Remove the screws/bolts securing the unit’s base, lift the outdoor unit off its bracket, and lower it to a safe spot.
- Remove the metal expansion anchors (wall plugs) to recover the pair of wall-mount brackets.
5. Remove the Indoor Unit & Copper Piping
- Remove the vinyl wrapping tape and outer insulation, then loosen the flare nuts connecting the indoor unit’s copper pipes.
- Lift the indoor unit off its mounting plate, then pull the entire pipe-and-wire bundle through the wall hole to bring the unit down.
- Remove the plastic wall plugs to take down the mounting plate. Pull out the old copper piping and coil it up neatly.
6. Packing and Protect the Equipment
- Use electrical tape to seal both service valve ports of the just-removed outdoor unit tightly.
- Seal the two flared copper pipe ends of the indoor unit, along with all flared and cut ends of the recovered old copper coil.
- Collect the remote control and small screws/parts into a separate bag kept together with the unit.
7. Gather Materials & Clean the Work Area
- Gather all of the unit's old materials — outdoor unit, indoor unit, copper coil, bracket pair, remote, and small screws/parts — into the fixed spot designated by the Customer.
- Clean the work area after completing the job.
8. Count & Handover
- Count the removed components, recheck the condition of the unit and remote control, then hand them over to the Customer.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What types and brands of air conditioners can be booked for removal/installation on bTaskee?
bTaskee accepts removal and installation of genuine wall-mounted air conditioners sold in Vietnam, including popular brands such as Daikin, Panasonic, LG, Samsung, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Sharp, Casper, Midea, Gree, Aqua, and Funiki.
We currently do not support Japanese or Korean domestic-market units imported through gray-market (parallel import) channels. You can identify these by a 100V voltage requiring a voltage converter, labels or remotes in Japanese/Korean, and capacity listed in kW instead of HP. These models use different connection standards and components, so they are not yet within the scope of the service.
2. If I purchase my own copper pipe and materials, and the unit has an issue after installation, does bTaskee still provide a warranty?
Yes, bTaskee still provides a 30-day warranty if the issue is due to the technician's error during installation, such as improper flaring, insufficient tightening of the pipe, or incorrect wiring. However, bTaskee does not cover issues caused by the quality of materials you purchased yourself. The technician will inspect the materials before installation and may refuse to use them if they are not safe or not suitable for the unit.
3. If I remove the air conditioner from my old home and install it at a new home, do I need to hire a separate transport company?
Yes, if the two locations are different. bTaskee only performs the technical work, removal, installation, and cleaning and does not include transporting the unit between two addresses.
The removal & installation combo only applies when moving the unit within the same house, apartment, or apartment block. Currently, bTaskee does not support transporting equipment between different addresses.
If you are moving to a different address, you will need to arrange transport yourself with a moving company and book the installation item separately at your new home. During transport, keep the sealing tape that the technician wrapped around the valve ends and pipe ends at the time of removal intact.
4. If the air conditioner is transported to a new home by a different company, does the installation warranty still apply if the unit develops an issue afterward?
Yes, if the issue stems from the installation work of the bTaskee technician, you are still covered by the 30-day installation warranty from the time the job was completed.
However, damage, dents, or issues arising during transport carried out by another company are not covered by bTaskee's warranty. The technician will inspect and record the condition of the unit before installation to clearly establish its original condition.
5. If I need to remove the unit today, but the new home won't be ready for installation for a few days, do I need to book twice, or is there an all-in-one way to handle it?
You will need to place two separate orders: one removal order for today, and one installation order for the day the unit can be installed at the new home. The removal & installation combo is only for cases where removal and installation happen in the same session, at the same location, so it is not suitable if the two events are a few days apart.
Booking separately allows you to proactively choose the installation date after you've determined the position of the indoor unit, outdoor unit, and power source at the new home. While waiting, keep the unit in a dry place, avoid impacts, and keep the pipe-end seals intact.
6. If I need to remove 2–3 air conditioners at the same time, will bTaskee guarantee enough staff and time so it doesn't affect my moving schedule?
You enter the number of units right when you book the service. The system will calculate the estimated cost and time based on the number of units you select.
If you're having multiple units done, you should book a few days in advance, especially on weekends or during peak season. Once a technician accepts the order, the appointment will appear in the app so you can proactively coordinate it with your moving schedule.
If I bought my air conditioner on an e-commerce platform but booked bTaskee's installation service, and the unit develops an issue, do I need to deal with the e-commerce platform, the manufacturer, or bTaskee?
It depends on the cause of the issue.
-Issues caused by the equipment itself: a faulty circuit board, incorrect sensor readings, the compressor not running, or the unit displaying a system error code → contact the manufacturer or seller according to the unit's warranty card.
Issues caused by installation: gas leaking at the flare nut, water dripping due to incorrect drain pipe slope, loss of power due to incorrect wiring, or poor cooling due to a skipped vacuuming step → covered by bTaskee's 30-day warranty.
Before installation, the technician will unbox the unit in front of you, checking the seal stickers, model code, and the exterior of the unit. This allows both parties to clearly establish the unit's condition at the moment it was delivered to your home.
